A diaper bag designed by a working mom

A diaper bag designed by a working mom

I'm a designer and I have worked fulltime throughout motherhood. I have two degrees and have worked so hard to get to where I am today that having children was really a huge decision and a huge lifestyle change as I'm sure it might be for you! When I had my first child, it was a no-brainer that I would work, not only because I needed to but also because I just had no idea what a stay at home mother would do and I 'didn't seem myself as the SAHM type', whatever that means (LOL!). I would roll my eyes when people would suggest it is best to stay at home. Then again I was just beginning motherhood and all I knew was that we had a baby in the works and the rest of it I would figure out later!

Well, the diaper bag was a huge thing to consider in having kids. And I have been through probably at least 15 diaper bags. Of the ones that I used the most, I found that it was always teeming with diapers and gear and it was hard to carry around. I also found that I carried it with other bags or that my personal stuff was always in danger of either falling out of the bag or being buried under cloth diapers at the bottom. Carrying a diaper bag was just a mess, to be honest. What ended up happening was that I lived out of my car. My purse, my backpack, my diaper bag. Don't even mention when the kids got older and I had to carry around their swim stuff or their ballet bags!

One day I looked at my reflection in a car I was walking by and saw this woman with 3 bags and a stroller. Nothing matched, nothing was comfortable, and it was just a visual eyesore to see me walking around. I was a mess and I was unable to carry everything and my kids with me. I've always been one who multi-tasks so a daily routine is heading to the gym to get some alone time from the kids as they are in the play room and so I can shoot off a few emails and then take a pilates class. I've always tried to fit fitness into my routine and so, I just found it so challenging to navigate these three aspects of life: kids, gym. work.

A year and a half of throwing around ideas and making samples led me to the Division of Labor bags. This is sort of the bag solution for the woman who really is fed up with her current bag solution and wants to get it all organized. Head over to our product page to read more in depth about this bag. But rest assured, you will be impressed with the features built into this that will make your life a whole lot easier!

Although my son is 4 and daughter is 2 I’m carrying around a spare bottle for her, toys for him and the odd nappie (diaper) for her !! These look like the perfect solution x

This looks gorgeous. It looks like it has lots of compartments too which is great. Storage is so important. I feel like I carry my life in my baby bag!
