A month of thanks for an amazing year

A month of thanks for an amazing year

The past week has been a rollercoaster ride for everyone in this country. If you're from Chicago you began with elation and then things got crazy - either you were depressed sad and plotting your exodus from the land of the free or you were elated. What I've found so interesting with the election results and the World series is how on edge I was until very late at night not having any clue who was going to win.

But with the election at least in my world, all I'm seeing is people grieving the results and those who voted for the President elect are the silent majority. I think all of us have been torn by both candidates and had a conflict of conscience. It seems a great majority of people weren't sure if they were going to vote for their registered party or just write in a candidate.

I digress- but today I realized we are coming up on Thanksgiving and at least for me I have so much to be thankful for. I plan to post more this month about the things I am thankful for. But off the top of my head, as far as business, I'm amazed at how much has happened in 365 days. This time a year ago I was going to startup events and networking with people and wow was it ever challenging. Fast forward this year and I'm taking calls and responding to emails with some of the people I dreamed of working with.

One other thing I do take away from this crazy past few weeks - well for me, I had my Kickstarter not fund which I guess could be chalked up to a failure. And then on the other hand I saw two life-changing events transpire - world series and the presidential election. What I took away from it all is that you can't be afraid of failure and you have to be willing to fail in order to win. And to be honest, though it wasn't ideal, I'm still as happy as ever and still moving forward and happy to be where I'm at. I've learned a lot and I've met a lot of great people. And one day I'll succeed at it.

But apart from the outward things, I am so thankful for the family that I have - it is a tremendous blessing that is just beyond words. Stay tuned for more thoughts this month and subscribe below for more!
